  Prosthodontics (or implant prosthodontics) is the specialty that studies and deals with the restoration or recovery of oral tissues and teeth, in order to restore and maintain shape, function, looks and oral health.

Prosthodontics covers from a simple restoration of a tooth to the reconstruction of the entire arch (oral rehabilitation).

 The recovery or replacement of dental elements can be accomplished through various models of prosthesis: removable prosthesis or fixed prosthesis on both natural teeth and implant.

  With new technology (CAD/CAM systems) and the development of new ceramics (zirconia ceramics and injection-molded ceramics for instance) it is possible to do work that is extremely natural and less invasive (less tooth wear).
